Energy and water for Ukraine
Why this project
Every day, Russian missiles strike Ukraine's energy production system, making daily life increasingly uncertain. The resilience of Ukraine's energy system has improved thanks to a relevant strategy: the combination of new energy resources enabling the implementation of hybrid systems (solar/fuel), a more decentralised distribution of production sites, the creation of cogeneration plants, and the modernisation and protection of power stations. All of this has reduced overall vulnerability.
However, power cuts sometimes last up to 20 hours a day after intense bombing. It therefore remains vital to provide generators to enable essential structures and the population to cope.
Water is also sometimes out of service due to a lack of electricity. In areas close to the front line, it is impossible to repair the water supply system. Small pumps must therefore be used in existing wells or reserves created in flexible tanks.
