About us

How the Ukraine Medical Aid Committee works

We are a group of around 30 volunteers in France committed to supporting Ukraine. Our multidisciplinary team is highly experienced.

François Grunewald, president of the association, is an agricultural engineer and holds a PhD in management sciences. A recognised humanitarian expert, he founded the Urgence Réhabilitation Développement Group (Groupe URD) after holding several positions at the United Nations and the ICRC. Since 2020, he has carried out numerous missions in Ukraine for Groupe URD, SAFE, the Zakarpattia Medical Aid Committee, Dignitas Ukraine and Électriciens Sans Frontières.

He has been teaching at Yuroslava Moundry University in Kharkiv for two years. Since 2022, he has carried out numerous missions in Ukraine for the Medical Aid Committee, Dignitas Ukraine and Electricians Without Borders.

Soutien humanitaire et aide médicale grâce à notre association humanitaire CAM Ukraine

Jacques Duplessy co-founded the NGO Comité d’Aide Médicale in 1990, which gave rise to the Comité d’Aide Médicale Zakarpattia in 2000. Having become a journalist, he returned to humanitarian work in March 2022 after the start of the large-scale war and organised the shipment of more than 360 semi-trailers of humanitarian aid.

The association can also count on the commitment of people with skills in medicine, communication, sponsorship and fundraising, and logistics.

In Ukraine, we work mainly with the Zakarpattia Medical Aid Committee, which we represent in France. We also collaborate with the Dignitas association on mobile clinic and equine therapy projects.

We also provide occasional support to other partners. We rely on the logistical base of the Medical Aid Committee in Uzhgorod and their representatives in several regions. In Kharkiv and Sumy, we work in consultation with the teams at Dignitas Ukraine.
